Locum tenens Nurse Practitioner

Job Description

We are currently in search of a nurse practitioner to provide primary care and consultation services to our home-bound clientele.  The position will provide extreme flexibility; you tell us when you will be available.  In addition, $250/month will be allocated towards your travel expenditures

Payment:  $38-$40/hour   |  Travel:  $250/month   |  Malpractice Ins: Yes   |  Cont. Education: Yes

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Examines, diagnoses and treats patients of all ages (with a focus on adult medicine).

  2. Acts as the nurse practitioner and consultant on all adult cases referred by supervising physician and GSS intake staff.

  3. Provides in-service training for staff in selected topics in internal or adult medicine as deemed necessary by the Medical Director or the supervising physician.

  4. Completes medical charts after each visit according to the problem-oriented medical records system.

  5. Assists in internal quality control audits.

  6. Provides quality medical care according to standards established by GSS committee on assurance.

  7. Assists medical staff and lab personnel in the area of specific supportive services for patient care delivery.

  8. Applies for and obtains staff privileges at community hospitals in the area.

  9. Participates in providing continuity of care including hospital in-patient services.

  10. Attends internal and external meetings. workshops and conferences and participates on task forces or committees, as necessary

  11. Performs all duties and services in full compliance with GSS

  12. Travels to home-bound patient with medical equipment

  13. Other duties or responsibilities as assigned by Medical Director or supervising physician.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications

  1. Must be in possession of a valid license to practice in the state of Georgia

  2. Must be in possession of Medicare provider number in each state to practice

  3. Must have knowledge of the principles and practice of medicine in allied service, Internal Medicine and Family Practice.

  4. Demonstrate a special interest in the area of home care services.

  5. Ability to relate to culturally diverse patients and community.

  6. Possession of DEA number

*If nurse practitioner does not have the qualifying credentials, GSS will credential the nurse practitioner.
